History Around Every Corner

One of the best things about living in New England is that around every corner, in the most unexpected places, there's a little bit of history. On this week's jaunt to the wool shop, we also spotted this covered bridge (c. 1854 at a cost of $500). We had to pause and get out of the road multiple times while trying to take our pictures, as it's still well-traveled today. As I listened to the cars rumble over its wooden timbers, I couldn't help but imagine how the clippety-clop of horses' hooves would've sounded.

  1. It is always so nice to visit your site. When the world news is so awful and you think there are so few decent people left, you are a refreshing person to be around (even remotely! HA!). And, the bridge is very cool. I can hear those hooves too!

    1. Awww...this makes me all teary. Thank you so much. What sweet words! "Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." - Phillipians 4:8

  2. Wise words! I will keep my eyes on Jesus today and not the world!
