Sabbath Rest

Sunset from our house one night this week.

There is none like the God of Jeshurun,
Who rides the heavens to your help,
And through the skies in His majesty.

- Deut. 33:26

  1. Kate - Your Sabbath day pictures are always beautiful and restful. Thank you for sharing them with your readers. I haven't visited here for a while, so was feeling especially blessed when the Lord helped jog my memory this afternoon when I was looking down my list of "favorites" and alphabetically went to Pleasantview Schoolhouse first and then saw your comment there concerning small churches. I spent a little time at the website Anna mentioned and will go there again sometime to read a bit more. We are in the largest church we have ever been part of right now - probably about 250 to 300 - but miss the days of past churches of smaller congregations and knowing everyone. As I was reading your more recent posts, I was thinking how tired you must have been at 9 PM on your full day of cooking, but how satisfying and rewarding it must have felt! And how thankful you will be in days to come with that bounty ready at a minute's notice! We have been receiving a myriad of seed catalogs - and I am busy looking at our canned/frozen items and hoping to get a clearer idea of what and what not to grow in our garden this summer. We have a little over 2 acres in south Jersey in an area that is still full of farms and road stands - not what a lot of people think of when they think of NJ - but in many areas we still are "the Garden State". The last of our 6 children was married last June and moved into his apartment a few months before that - so my sweetheart of 41 years and I are newlyweds again! We loved having the children at home and it was a wonderful time BUT this is also a wonderful time. God has been so good to us and so faithful. Seeing pictures of your home and family and trips is always a delight - my thanks again for including us in your joy - Esther in NJ

  2. Hi, Esther.

Yes, we too were part of a larger church at one time. (Christmas Eve services packing out at 600-700 people!) But we do love our small congregation...the warmth, relationships, and accountability that come from them.

Newlyweds again!?!? That's great! Congratulations on six children wed! What a blessing!

It's going to snow tomorrow, and I'm hoping to spend the afternoon with my favorite seed catalog!

    Blessings to you!
