Dessert Club

Colette dreamed up the idea of forming a “Dessert Club” among her friends at church.  She sent out some “are you interested?” emails, and there was definitely interest!  So last night, those who could came to our house for the first meeting of the Dessert Club.  She snipped some flowers from the yard and set a pretty buffet table.


Colette made Lime Pistachio Cheesecake, which is gluten free and delicious!  The recipe comes from the Ahwanee Hotel in Yosemite National Park.


For the first meeting, everyone was supposed to make their favorite recipe. Quite the scrumptious spread!  Included in the buffet was: Peanut Butter Oat Bars, S’More Bars, Chocolate Pie, Panna Cotta with Strawberries (not pictured), Blackberry Lemonade Cupcakes, and Brownies.

At the end of the meeting, everyone’s name went on a slip of paper and into “the hat”.  And then everyone voted, on another slip of paper, for the baker of the dessert they liked the best, and those names went in the hat.  Each time they meet they will do this.  And at the end of the year, they will have a drawing from the hat, and the winner gets a food gift basket!  Quite the clever idea.
Next month, they are all bringing a recipe they’ve never tried before.
